Student Well-being Teams Mental Health Walk-in Clinics

Student Well-being Teams Mental Health Walk-in Clinics

Student Well-being Teams are offering mental health walk-in clinics over the summer months (July and August) to school-aged children and their families. The clinics will help with mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, parent/child conflict, emotions or other common stressors.

Will I need an appointment?Student Well-being Teams logo

No appointment or referral is required. The one-time session will be approximately one hour and is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis

There is no cost for this service.

Note:  Every effort will be made to see all individuals presenting at the clinic, however you may need to wait to see a staff person or be asked to come back on another day.

What can I expect?

The child or parent will speak with a Student Well-being Team mental health social worker or a school health nurse. They will provide some strategies to help manage your mental health concerns, or discuss other services that may be helpful.

The session is not intended to be a comprehensive mental health or psychological assessment. For immediate help, call the Island Helpline at 1-800-218-2885 (toll-free, available 24-hours, seven days a week) or contact your family doctor or nurse practitioner. For emergency care, call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Note:  Child care is not provided and children must be supervised at all times.
