Septic Contractor Licence and On-site Sewage Disposal System Installer Licence
Renewal Advisory - Be advised that Septic Contractor and Site Assessor licencing must be renewed before March 31 of your expiry year.
You need to have a Septic Contractor's Licence for the installation, reconstruction, modification or decommissioning of a sewage disposal (septic) system.
You need to have an On-site Sewage Disposal System Installer Licence for the installation, reconstruction, modification or decommissioning of a sewage disposal (septic) system under the supervision of a licensed Septic Contractor.

What do I need to get a Septic Contractor's Licence?
- Have a valid Site Assessor’s Licence.
- You must also have attended a seminar approved by the responsible authority.
- Have passed Contractor’s Licence exam from the responsible authority.
- Fill out the application below.
- Pay the fee.
If you have a similar licence issued by another province or territory, you may be able to get a Septic Contractor's Licence for PEI if it is equivalent to the PEI regulatory requirements.
What do I need to get an On-site Sewage Disposal System Installer Licence?
- Your supervising Septic Contractor must fill out the application below on your behalf.
- Pay the fee.
- You must also have attended a seminar or workshop sponsored by the responsible authority.
What are the fees?
$250 is the application fee and renewal fee for a Septic Contractor Licence. Licences are valid for up to two years. HST is not required.
$25 is the application fee and renewal fee for an On-site Sewage Disposal System Installer Licence. Licences are valid for up to two years. HST is not required.
