About the Farm Practices Review Board
Agriculture is very important Prince Edward Island and its provincial economy. It is in the provincial interest that in agricultural areas, agricultural uses and normal farm practices are promoted and protected in a way that balances the needs of the agricultural community with provincial health, safety, and environmental concerns
The role of the Farm Practices Review Board is to determine normal farm practice in PEI as well as to hear and resolve concerns from complainants who are aggrieved by odour, noise, vibration, light, smoke, dust or other issues arising from an agriculture practice or operation, and other responsibilities as outlined in the Farm Practices Act.
Who serves on the review board?
Community members and farm organization representatives are appointed from among individuals who apply through Engage PEI.
