What is MyHealthPEI? 

MyHealthPEI is a secure online service that provides eligible Island residents 16 years of age and older convenient, 24/7 access to components of their personal health information. Additionally, MyHealthPEI offers self-entry tools and educational resources to help support your health and well-being.

What is the difference between MyPEI and MyHealthPEI?

MyHealthPEI is part of a broader digital initiative called MyPEI Account, which will offer Island residents secure access to a range of provincial government services. 

MyPEI Account acts like the front door of a house where, once inside, you can move from room to room depending on the services and information you want to access.  One of the many services – or rooms in the house – is MyHealthPEI.  You must first create a verified a MyPEI account to access MyHealthPEI.

Is it mandatory to use MyHealthPEI and if I don’t, how do I access my personal health information?

No, using MyHealthPEI is optional! While it offers many benefits – like convenient and secure online access to components of your personal health information – you can choose whether or not to use MyHealthPEI.

If you prefer not to use MyHealthPEI, you can still access your health records the way you always have through Health PEI. Follow the steps outlined here: Request health and medical record.

What will I be able to see and do in MyHealthPEI?

MyHealthPEI gives you secure and convenient online access to components of your personal health information as well as helpful tools and resources to support your health and well-being. 

Initially, you will be able to: 

  1. View your recent lab resultsdiagnostic imaging reports, and immunization records
  2. Track your health using self-entry tools
  3. Access reliable health education resources
  4. Connect to select smartdevices, including smart watches and blood pressure monitors.

MyHealthPEI will continue to grow over the coming months to include more personal health information such as your medication history and other types of clinical results and reports. New features will also be added to help you manage your health such as booking appointments, more self-entry tools and educational information. 

Do any other provinces offer residents online access to their personal health information? 

Yes! Eight other provinces currently provide secure online access to personal health information.

Who can register for MyHealthPEI?

To be eligible for MyHealthPEI you must be an Island resident who is 16 years or older and have:

  • An active PEI driver’s license or Voluntary ID
  • An active PEI health card
  • One further piece of identification from the following list:
    • Canadian Birth Certificate
    • Canadian Citizenship Card or Certificate
    • Permanent Resident Card
    • Secure Certificate of Indian Status
    • Canadian Passport
    • NEXUS Card

You must first create your verified MyPEI Account then add your PEI Health Card information to access MyHealthPEI.

I have a single name, a mononym, can I still use MyHealthPEI? 

Yes! Anyone with a mononym can access MyHealthPEI.

Can a health care provider access my personal health information?

No, your health care provider cannot access the personal health information in your MyHealthPEI account. 

Your clinical test results and reports are shared with the ordering health care provider and/or your primary care provider through PEI’s Electronic Health Record system – not through the MyHealthPEI online service for residents. 

If you would like to share something from your MyHealthPEI account with your provider, you can easily download the information to your computer or mobile device and share it with them directly.

Can I have access to someone else’s personal health information on in MyHealthPEI, such as my parents or children? 

Not at this time. Due to privacy and consent limitations, online access to your dependents’ personal health information through MyHealthPEI will require more time and consideration.

If your child or dependent is 16 years of age or older, they can access components of their personal health information in MyHealthPEI by creating their own MyPEI Account and entering their PEI Health Card number.

Can someone under the age of 16 access their personal health information in MyHealthPEI? 

During this initial release of MyHealthPEI, you must be 16 years of age or older to access components of your personal health information in MyHealthPEI. Lowering the minimum age is being considered for the future.

I am an emancipated minor and want access to my personal health record. How do I gain access to MyHealthPEI?  

Request health and medical record. Currently, there is no process to grant access to MyHealthPEI for an emancipated minor under the age of 16. However, you can access your personal health information from Health PEI by following these instructions:  

Can I change or delete information in MyHealthPEI?

You cannot change or delete any clinical results or reports that come from PEI’s Electronic Health Record system. However, you can change health information that you have entered into your MyHealthPEI profile such as height, weight, insulin, blood glucose and blood pressure.

If you find incorrect information displayed in MyHealthPEI, such as inaccuracies in your personal information or results you do not believe are yours, please contact our eHealth Support Desk at 1-800-372-3588 and select option 2.
