PEI Policing Survey Results

The Department of Justice and Public Safety is releasing the results of a public survey conducted in 2024 to gather Islanders’ views on the delivery of policing services across Prince Edward Island.

The public survey on policing was conducted in response to a recommendation in the Midpoint Evaluation of the 2017 Crime Prevention and Police Services Model Review Report, which called for a public survey on policing to be conducted every three years.

The survey was open from June 20 to July 18, 2024 and invited Islanders to share their experiences with local police services, their perceptions of safety and their priorities for policing in their communities. A total of 926 Islanders participated in the survey, offering valuable feedback on how well policing is meeting the needs of Islanders.

The feedback received through this survey will help inform ongoing efforts to support and modernize policing in PEI, ensuring that services remain responsive, effective and aligned with community expectations.
