Weight Restrictions on roads in Searletown and Mount Buchanan

Weight restrictions are in effect on two secondary roads in different locations in Prince Edward Island.

Large trucks and heavy vehicles are asked to avoid travelling on Middleton Road in Searletown, off  Route 1A.

Restrictions are also in place on the Point Prim Road in Mount Buchanan, off the TransCanada Highway.

Maximum allowable weights are reduced to 4,500 kg per axle and the maximum vehicle weight is 5,500 kg.

Weight restrictions help reduce damage and preserve the provincial highway network. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure appreciates the cooperation of the trucking industry in complying with weight restrictions and road postings.
