Bicycle Rebate

The Bicycle Rebate will help increase active transportation on the Island. The goal is to grow a vibrant culture of cycling in PEI, where many residents incorporate cycling into their active and healthy lifestyles.

Rebate Amount

This is an instant rebate offered at the cash register to PEI residents purchasing a bicycle within the province from a participating retailer.

The rebate of up to $100 will be offered on bicycles with a retail price of up to $2000 (before tax).

There will be a price floor of $50, which means that the bike cannot be sold for a sticker price of less than $50 after the rebate has been applied.

Retailers will apply the rebate to bikes at their discretion and according to program rules. Contact your participating retailer for information on which bikes are eligible.

Customers do not require a coupon or approval form; the rebate is issued at the point of purchase.

Eligibility Criteria

Any new and non-powered (i.e. non-electric; powered by rider) bicycle will qualify for the rebate, including:

  • Children’s bicycles (including balance bikes);
  • Adult bicycles;
  • Cargo bicycles; and
  • Tricycles.

There is a limit of 5 bicycle or tricycle rebates issued per transaction.

This rebate is not applicable to used or refurbished bicycles.

Bicycles and tricycles that retail for over $2,000.00 are not eligible for the rebate.

What if I bought a bike from a participating retailer and didn't receive a rebate?

All participating retailers are now offering point of sale rebates. However, it's possible you bought a bike before rebates were offered at the cash register.

Bikes bought from participating retailers between April 1, 2022 and June 28, 2022 may still be eligible for a rebate. Email sustainable@gov.pe.ca for information on how to apply.
