Energy Efficient Equipment Rebates

Existing homes are eligible for rebates to install energy efficient equipment such as heating systems and heat pumps.

We have adjusted our operations based on COVID-19 public health advice. You can now visit our office to pick up or drop off your applications. We continue to encourage applications online, by email at efficiencypei@gov.pe.ca and by mail at 69 Belvedere Avenue, Suite 1-B01 Charlottetown, PE C1A 7N8. Learn more about COVID-19 government operations.

All heat pump supply and installations must be completed by a Network of Excellence contractor to be eligible for a rebate. All services (heat pump supply, installation, electrical and refrigeration) must be provided by the same Network of Excellence contractor. All heat pump installations require a certificate of compliance from the electrical permit. Please obtain the certificate from your installer and include it with your application materials.

efficiencyPEI offers rebates for the installation of ENERGY STAR® certified heating equipment including heat pumps, water saving devices, biomass heating devices, and other energy saving products.

In addition to rebates, financing is available through the Government of Prince Edward Island to assist with the up-front costs.

How do I apply for the rebate?

If you are interested in financing for the up-front costs, learn more about the energy efficiency loan program.

To receive your efficiencyPEI equipment upgrade rebate, you must:
