Strongest Families

The Strongest Families Program provides high quality, timely, no cost mental health care for Prince Edward Island children and youth and their families. The program is delivered online and through telehealth services.

You do not need a referral to join this program.

What at-home resources or supports can I access for my child?

The Strongest Families programs help Island families with children and youth ages 3 to 17 who experience behaviour, anxiety, or nighttime/ bedwetting problems. The online programming and telehealth services work with the family’s schedule, eliminating the need to travel, take time off work/school or change normal routines. Additionally, there are no wait times so families can access help quickly.

Three programs are offered:

  • Behaviour program (for ages 3 to 12);
  • Anxiety program (for ages 6 to 17); and
  • Nighttime bedwetting (for ages 5 to 12).

How long will it take to get support?

There is no wait time for the online programming and telehealth services. Also, your family will not need to travel or change your normal routine to take part.

What is the cost?

There is no registration cost or fee.

How does the program work?

Families learn helpful skills with guidance from trained coaches who provide weekly telephone and Internet support, along with the use of resources such as handbooks, online tools and demonstration media. The program operates on a schedule that is convenient for families.
