In Prince Edward Island, medically necessary hospital services are free with a valid PEI Health Card.
PEI has seven hospitals, including two main hospitals (Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown and Prince County Hospital in Summerside) and four community hospitals and one psychiatric hospital.
- For non-urgent care, contact your family doctor, nurse practitioner or visit a walk-in clinic. You can call 8-1-1 for advice from a registered nurse. For non-urgent mental health support, call 1-833-553-6983.
- PEI hospitals offer various diagnostic services, including:
