The Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation systems for Islanders, visitors, and the movement of goods. We also plan, build, and maintain public infrastructure across the province. The department manages the province’s energy portfolio, including programs and services that help Islanders make their homes more efficient and manage energy costs.

Some of the department’s key priorities include:

  • Renewing public infrastructure by developing long-term plans and working with all levels of government to deliver them.
  • Improving front-line services for Islanders through Access PEI locations across the province.
  • Ensuring Islanders can count on reliable energy, advancing policies and projects that help keep costs manageable, and strengthening the reliability and resilience of the grid.
